Ok, it’s been too long since I updated.
Weight 210.2 (down 22 pounds).
It went up last week and is back down today. I’m ok with this as last week was fairly hectic with a lot of stuff going on at work and a quiz due for school. By quiz, read test worth 15% (1.5 letter grades) of the final exam. Not that I worry about grades or anything, humbug! I also started a new medication, hurt my back, and injured my arm. Therefore, I only worked out twice (with my trainer, totally skipped Jiu Jitsu). Somehow, I think I’ll live.
I started working back out today and I think Sean almost killed me. Legs, a jump rope then squats and a jump rope, plus I ran interval before that after a “lazy” previous week. Ow! I don’t think I’ve been eating enough, too many skipped lunches to get stuff done, I really need to work on that...

So, I got a request for some more information about the interval training. To begin with, walk for 2 minutes (I walk at a 3.0) then run for 1 minute as fast as you can (I run at a 7.0), Walk at the base speed for another two minutes, then run for 1 more minutes, continue. Sean has me doing this for 9 minutes (3 sets) at this time, I’ll up it in another week to 12 – 15 minutes.
On a side note, I kind of enjoy people telling me if I’m going to do weight I need to do X. For clarification, you don’t have to do any one thing, different things help different people. What worked for one person might NOT work for another…
Had a girls night on Sunday, totally cheated. Maggie is going through some rough times so I felt justified in my wine and pie. It was really good : - ) This popped my weight up a bit, but I think I’ll live!
Went to the gym on Monday and managed my interval sets and then 30 minutes with Sean. That was enough for me!
Went to Jiu Jitsu on Tuesday – I have my third stripe so I’m in advanced classes. The advanced class is followed by an hour of rolling – SOOoooooo much fun. I’m not very good, but I hope I’ll get better! That is 2 solid hours of working out, my legs still hurt today. I was unable to finish my interval set so let my legs rest today. Sean decided to work shoulders – oww, raising my arms too high hurts.
Been in a slump lately mood-wise. I was at work earlier this week and just wanted to close my door and hide. Really, I didn’t even want to get out of bed, on top of that I’ve been a little irritable. I think I’ve done a good job of keeping that out of the office. Eh, I’m a girl, moods come and go. This one should be over soon.
Weight: 211.8
Starting Weight: 232
I hit the 20 pound mark!!! I think that deserves comments.

Sick, sick, sick. That’s what you get for a day like Friday. I’ve had a horrible cold. On the plus side, except for a handful of Reeses Pieces which Tom was eating and a heck of a lot of Orange Juice (Simply orange, 150 cal in 8oz) I’ve stuck with my eating right thing. I miss my ice cream days. I have jokingly told people that I wish I’d had a stomach bug instead of a cold because then I’d be throwing up and losing weight (I’m joking, really….) I did text Sean, my trainer, in order to see whether or not he’d work out with me today, he said to rest yesterday and show up today – which I did. I went to bed fairly early and slept like a rock (btw, do rocks actually sleep?)
Weight 213.8 – 214.2 (it differed back and forth between these two numbers 4 times.
I’ve cut white wheat out of my diet for the next month. I love white bread too much to make this a permanent change but heading up to Lauren’s wedding and wanting to lose approximately 13.8 more pounds by then, it has to be done (/sigh). I’ll keep you posted on how THIS works out…

Oww… so a word to the wise, never combine 2 hours of Jiu Jitsu with 30 minutes with a personal trainer. The result is painful. However, my scale liked it J Back down to 214, going back up to 215 is NOT an option. Actually, the gym combined with Jiu Jitsu was useful, by leaving my school project and coming back to it, I finally managed to figure out how to make Amazon Associates work on a webpage. Not terribly complicated but slightly annoying. I did not eat enough yesterday and woke up with a horrible sore throat. I’m not sure if the two are related, I really hope they aren’t. I’ve been spraying Chloraseptic into my mouth to numb it – anyone know of any other good products? I’m also forcing down orange juice for the added vitamins.
Tip from Sean: Interval training. Apparently I’m not doing enough of it. He wants me to walk on the treadmill for 2 minutes and run as fast as I can for a whole minute. He says this should up the fat burning in my workouts.

Here is a book on interval training with decent reviews from amazon, I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Anyone else know any good interval training books?

I thought I’d shoot this off before heading to work. Yes, I’ve been horrible about updating this week. My weight has been roller coasting up and I down and I have been…sick or unwell. No symptoms a doctor can help with just run-down. Food, ahh, sweet food. I’ve done ok. Tom and I had Mexican earlier in the week and we both think the food was bad. We were both feeling unwell the next day. Because of feeling unwell, my trainer wouldn’t work with me on Tuesday so I did a little cardio and yesterday was my first real day of working out. I felt stiff and the workout had more of an impact on me.
My friend Andrew said that a lot of people who work out almost every day take 1 week off in every 10 or so to let their bodies recuperate. Anyone know if that’s right?
This book is great, lots of good information in it. Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change Your Life

So I meant to post this on Thursday, and then on Friday. So, I finally got around to it today, bah and humbug. 215 solid, yay! That’s 17 pounds and a lot of inches. I’ve very pleased. Today is my day off from the gym / Jiu Jitsu. I only went 4 times this week, sue me. Twice to Jiu Jits, twice to the gym, and I’ll try to go to the gym tomorrow and work resistance.
Overall, I’ve eaten pretty well. There is an exception: Last night I had angel hair with Alfredo. NOT healthy, however, I measured everything out (even the pasta) so I could watch exactly how much crap I was putting in my system. Mmmm, bad for you food. My own, my precious!
Eggs and toast for breakfast.

I think I need new pants…. That’s the dilemma of wearing wide leg slacks. But my slacks are baggy at the hip, baggy at the leg, and require a belt to stay up (by the way, YAY!). I even had a coworker say I looked like I was losing weight and my clothing was loose! I had another one ask me how I was eating in order to lose weight. I explained what I had done and she said she was doing weight watchers. We then discussed what she was eating and I was actually able to offer some suggestions!!!!!!
That being said and shared: I’ve been not so great about food the last few days. I haven’t had anything extremely bad, just not great. My weight is static at the moment so that’s good. I also haven’t worked out since Friday. I was exhausted on Saturday and Sunday and then yesterday I went and bought new workout shoes instead of working out (procrastination anybody?). The shoes are great, I turn my foot when I walk and they have extra support to keep my foot from turning and to keep me from injuring myself in the future. I have a PT appointment today at 6 so I’ll be there for that and work cardio afterward. After that I have homework to do and sleep to nab. I also need to start building a blog or webpage to make money off of for my ecommerce class. Hmm, maybe something weight loss oriented?
